What Freeware should you use?.
Having now established that using freeware is a
cost-effective and efficient method of employing
precautionary software to safeguard your computer
and contents, you now need to decide what
freeware to use and why. I would always
recommend as a matter of course researching the
software through the internet, reviews and computer
magazines before its applied use - but that all takes
time and money, and the article writers might have
vested interests despite purported impartiality.
To save you the time I have done all the
background research for you and have thoroughly
tested all the best freeware software (5%)
applications in the different areas so that a
complete set of tools can be built up to enable a
stable, secure and safe computer system.

Please note that downloading freeware without a
tested recommendation might download adware
or worse to your computer.
       Note well here that
choosing the wrong freeware
can cause as much if not
  more damage than what you
    are trying to solve, but
      don’t despair because
      Help
   is at
hand....
Virus & Firewall            Junk cleaner & trasher            Registry cleaner         Housekeeping        Password             AD          Software / Hardware
                                                                                                  Optimizer                    Backups              Protection          Blocker                 Driver
Below you will find a prioritised list of what I consider to be essential freeware software types required in order
to protect your computer system. The final recommended software will be available on the CD linked to the actual
Software itself or linked to the sites where they can be downloaded to. Please note that it is vital that suitable
anti-virus software be installed before downloading anything else - this is an absolute must. Recommended excellent ones on the CD.

1)  Anti-virus / spyware / malware with firewall
2)  Junk Cleaner (To clear out temporary internet files, cookies etc)
3)  Registry cleaner / optimizer
4)  Password security protection
5)  Housekeeping (Backups)
6)  Advertisement blockers
7)  Software updater
8)  Computer system optimizer
9)  Driver updater (software and hardware)

If all of these software bundles are part of your armoury against the battle to protect your computer and its data
then you will be better placed to offer a degree of protection that is absent on most Pcs because most individuals
are ignorant to the risks until it is far too late. Operating systems providers are trying to come up with an all singing
and dancing suite of software that will address most of the issues raised - but so far have not produced the goods.

Basically you will require a set as below...but which ones, so many to chose from and which ones can you trust?
