Virtually all computer problems are caused by either software or hardware problems, or where your computer is
Infected with a virus (s) or is cluttered up with files of rubbish (Junk). Typically they might include problems such as......
Your hardware is failing, is causing errors, or isn’t functioning correctly.
You received an error message on a blue screen and your computer will not respond.
Your computer continuously restarts.
Your computer takes ages shutting down or starting up.
Your computer freezes up and won’t do anything.
Your computer will not boot up.
When this happens, before blind panic sets in, the immediate response is to because you had not backed up all your
important documents and photos, and you do not have a clue what to do!
The next response is to seek professional advice from a Pc technician, or to contact your Internet Security software supplier:
it is only then you discover that help is not available unless you can pay for it, and this is typically £50 plus - money that you
should not have to pay because you have anti-virus software and a firewall already in place - both of which have failed.
There are some very good web sites offering free advice for desperate computer users and these will be identified in the
menu-driven CD being sold - but you need to know which ones are good and which are not.
All the hard work has been done for you in this respect.
The sad fact is that computer hackers and other disreputable miscreants are more clever than most of the Software houses and
their system developers, and that their detection software is reactive, which means that the damage is done before they can
address the problem - NOT much good to you.
Now, having recognised that the precautions that you have taken so far are quite possibly ineffective, and that quite possibly
you have thrown money away for software that may not be providing the protection that you thought it was, and that you
cannot afford technical support, Pc repairers and alike because they always come at a premium cost, or you don’t want to
purchase alternative commercial software that might be just as ineffective as the ones you are replacing - then you have to
develop another strategy.
It is quite possible that you have not taken enough precautions, or realised the inherent dangers of going on the internet and
downloading software, accessing dubious sites - inadvertently downloading Trojans, Worms, Adware or Malware or Spyware,
or being the victim of key loggers and phlishing sites and cyber fraud; and that you have not taken backups on a regular basis.
Well you be surprised to know that the solution, which is as good as anything else available, is to become more computer savvy,
and to build up an armoury of software tools that are free to everyone - and costs absolutely nothing to purchase - and is
probably as good, if not better, than other commercial packages.
